1. Visual Feedback- Memes are an excellent way to provide positive feedback to students.  This type of digital feedback is a way to encourage students for a job well done.  These visual messages motivate students to continue to work hard and are beneficial to student success.  Memes are quick and easy to create, and I like to upload images and customize them for a more personal touch. Students love this type of digital feedback, and they say that enjoy receiving these messages.  It takes longer to do this instead of a simple written note, but it's worth the extra effort to acknowledge students' efforts and achievement.s  Here is an example of one that I created at www.memecreator.org, and it is also easy to add the student's name to make it more personal. Other options for creating images with positive messages are www.photofunia.com and www.signgenerator.org.  I also enjoy using www.makebeliefscomix.com. 

 

2. Audio Feedback- I often use this type of digital feedback as a world language teacher.  I frequently assign formative speaking assessments, and students record responses to a prompt by using the Voiceboard tool in Blackboard.  I reply to the students' recorded posts by using Voiceboard,  and I do these voice messages in the target language.  Students love to listen to my feedback because it is encouraging for them to be able to understand my comments in French or Spanish. This type of feedback not only gives them information regarding their performance, but also another affords students an additional method to practice their listening comprehension skills in the language they are studying.   I also like to ask students to listen to 2 of their classmates recordings and record a reply. The students are practicing their listening and speaking skills with peer feedback.  This activity reinforces communicative skills which are essential in learning a second language.  Peer feedback allows increased engagement in the class and promotes accountability.  

3. Videos- There are many ways to send digital feedback via videos.  I use Jing, Voki, Goanimate, and Blabberize.  Here is a Voki that I created to congratulate a student for improved performance.  This is a creative and interesting way to motivate student performance and to congratulate students for their hard work.

4. Linking to outside resources- When I have students who struggle with a concept, I always provide additional resources to enhance comprehension and learning.  These additional resources can be videos from sites such as Merlot or links for additional practice such as my Quia webpage: www.quia.com/profiles/vcampos and www.conjuguemos.com. I often provide these types of links that provide activities for students to complete in order to earn extra points or for additional practice.
